I am currently learning russian, I studied it in uni, but after corona they didin't publish new courses because of lack of face-to-face teaching enviroment. Now I already graduated and can't even visit Russia still so I need to "artificially" try to keep my interest to prevent my detoriation in language, thus I am lurking dvach from time to time. I still feel duolingo or some shit is not progressing me enough to comforably lurk.

I have few close russian friends I wish someday speak with in coherent level and understand them and their friends in normal discussion. They have tried their hardest and learn english, why shouldn't I give a try to learn russian too?

Thank you for your advice, but I feel like as bad as dvach can be, it's form of 'normal' discussion I can poke myself in and not feel like third wheel. While I can probably read vveery slowly classical books in span of eternity, I don't know if it will help me in normal discussions or if my friends speak like "educated people".
