How do russians send money to each other? In US, besides payment apps like venmo, we have zelle that lets us send money from one bank to another with just an email address with no fees. What are the equivalents services?
qiwi, sbp, yandex money. important btw: In Russia u can't buy sim-card without u personal passport data, like u can't buy train-tiket or use internet witnout passport. think about it
>>120585 you must have the same account in some bank, then transfers up to a certain amount will be free. for example, Sberbank, which almost everyone has. There are commissions with transfers between banks. money transfering to each other are usually very simple and are used constantly by everyone everyday
>>120345 (OP) >john praises the ability of sending modey via bank app Dishwasher supposed to be the next wonder alongside with contactless bank cards or even Apple Pay. Do Americans have flat screen TVs btw?
>>120345 (OP) Funny muricans, you live like in the 19th century. Transfers by mail, try telegraph next time. I have been using btc for the last 8 years, instant transfers in 2 clicks on the phone, to any bank account in Russia.
>>120345 (OP) If there's one thing in which Russia is one of the best, then its banking. We pay with NFC almost everywhere (if you are not a Church of Apple worshipper) and in cases we can't, we transfer money with mobile apps or even SMS!
>>120585 Within a bank, or a partner bank, free of charge. If banks do not cooperate, it is usually 1,5%. My opinion, as a person who lived in the US for several years, is that the Russian banking system is more developed for the consumer. It is more convenient, profitable and simple. You can pay for a meal at a restaurant or tip at a cafe by simply showing your phone with a QR on the screen through the app. I haven't seen this in the US. Or even pay in a store and you don't need a card at all, in Russia you don't have to tie your phone to your hand to avoid it being stolen on the street, so it's safe.
>>121519 Question since you've been State side, any banks in Russia you know of that can take incoming SWIFT transfers? I ask since I aim to study at HSE for a couple of years but finding a means to flip dollars to rubles has been aids.
>>121547 No, only bitcoin (or analogue) until BRICS finalizes its bank transfer system. In fact, in many cases, buying American goods via bitcoin (for example, the RTX 4090 banned for Russia) from the Chinese turns out to be much more profitable than buying directly from US companies via dollars.
>>120604 Agreed. I'm a yank that moved to Moscow in 2021. America is like the fucking stone age. I still remember having to buy a snickers with a $1 bill like a fucking peasant because the local grocery store couldn't accept card bc the fees they pay the processor are too high.
In russia you can just pay someone using your bank app on your phone with their phone number. Unless you're sending millions the govt doesn't give a fuck
Same with bills, elec, heating etc. Kek I don't even have a router in my apartment bc I just use the mobile Hotspot on my phone which is like $7 mo and gives me faster than nigger Verizon routers which cost like $100 and give throttle Guatemala type speeds
